The Olympics are a time when the world comes together. Here are the top stories heading in. At the opening ceremony, North and South Korea went under one flag. Russia has been banned from competing due to alleged doping at the Sochi Olympics. Russian athletes can compete under the Olympic flag. So far, Norway has the most medals, with the Netherlands second most, and Germany third most. The US has 2 medals, from luge and snowboarding. Over 92 countries are competing. The many sports Olympians can compete in are: luge, alpine skiing, biathlon, ice hockey, figure skating, snowboarding, curling, cross country skiing, speed skating,ski jumping, and skeleton. The US has over 242 athletes competing for medals this year, the most this year. Of course, in this year's ice hockey tournament, the rivalry between the US and Canada will continue.
