A Russian naval ship took a Ukrainian tug boat and over a dozen hostages. The hostages could face over 6 years in prison for violating Russian waters. Most officials state that the boat was actually in international waters, but Russia will not budge. Since Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, relations with the two countries have deteriorated. The US is supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Russians simply call it a miscommunication between the two vessels. An upcoming NATO meeting could cause some action to be put in place. Ukraine is sending troops to the border in case of attempted invasion. Eastern Ukraine is being controlled by Russian rebels who believe that the EU and America are enemies of Ukraine. Little to none US intervention has caused the world to move on from Ukraine, a sad reality. Ukraine needs America, and we have to help these people in need.
